xelerate.tech and Techem joined forces and set up a new entity, “Techem Xelerate Lda” in the city of Porto.

Techem, a German market leader for real-estate related services, operates one of the largest IoT infrastructures in Europe. With over 56 million connected devices across 13 million flats, Techem meters consumption and monitors devices at scale. This data flows primarily through a power-optimized radio network into cloud-native pipelines, where it is aggregated, validated, and enriched. The result is accurate metering, transparent cost allocation, and seamless regulatory compliance across its service areas.

At the center of this ecosystem is a custom-built core-system that delivers Techem’s digital services in 18 countries: The digital backbone of a billion-euro business. To support Techem’s vision of becoming a unified business platform for the whole group (30+ entities in Germany and 18 international subsidiaries), the core-system is being transformed into a modular, API-first foundation to unlock multi-tenant operations, to scale delivery, and leverage synergies across all business units.
